Verdict: High school and up. Lots of sexually suggestive content.

Summary

Maka is a weapon meister, determined to turn her partner, a living scythe named Soul Eater, into a powerful death scythe — the ultimate weapon of Death himself! Charged with the task of collecting and devouring the tainted souls of ninety-nine humans and one witch, Maka and her fellow meisters strive to master their weapons as they face off against the bizarre and dangerous minions of the underworld. But the meisters’ own personal quirks may prove a bigger obstacle than any sultry enchantress!

Content

Inappropriate Language: “Asshole” “Dammit” “Shit!!” “Crap!” “Like Hell” Comments on characters breast sizes. “Let’s piss on Sid’s grave.”

Violence and Gore: A man is shown stabbed with minimal blood around the wound and coming from his mouth. A main character is attacked with a sword resulting in a small spray of blood. Various monsters are destroyed with a variety of weapons, most frequently with no blood or gore. One character is heavily beaten up and covered in blood and bruises.

Sex and Nudity: A young woman is shown bathing with only light bubbles covering her private areas. She rests her naked breasts on the main character’s head. The father of one of the protagonists hangs out at a cabaret club/hostess bar. A different character is shown standing up in the bath while completely nude with Barbie doll-level detail. More peeping and Barbie doll nudity. Breast groping. Two characters are kidnapped and strung up while being stripped to their underwear, which is torn or in the process of falling off. Perspective sometimes looks up characters’ skirts. Even more bathing scenes with strategic bubbles and Barbie anatomy. Literally a panel zoomed in to focus on a character’s crotch after her skirt is pulled up.

Drugs and Alcohol: None present.
